Content
In this course, the learning takes place partly in a professional environment outside the university, for example in a technology company or at a research institute, or as part of a larger project at UiS. Internships can also take place under the auspices of an approved student project at the Faculty of science and technology. The student must find a workplace or project that is interested in involving the student in the company's ongoing work. Internship in a student project must be agreed upon with the department's faculty staff/subject teacher responsible for the relevant student project. The purpose of the course is to give students practical experience and the opportunity to immerse themselves in selected issues related to the company's practice. An agreement/contract and plans must be developed between the student, company, and subject teacher to set out practical aspects regarding how the internship will be carried out and how the supervision of the student will take place. The evaluation will take place based on a critically reflective report from the student as well as a presentation. The report shall contain a discussion of a more specific issue related to the company's practice, a reflection of the student’s own contribution to the company, as well as documentation about the work performed and certified timesheets.
