Advanced clinical midwifery including acute obstetric complications (UTV-MJOP90)

Clinical studies are carried out in the municipal midwifery service and at health clinics for adolescents, at the specialist health service’s maternity ward, the observation post for pregnant women, the gynaecological outpatient clinic, the maternity outpatient clinic and neonatal ward.

The course will contribute to ensuring that quantity and quality requirements for supervised professional training throughout the master’s programme are met by further development of knowledge, documentation of and reflection on learning situations, and mastery of clinical skills. Students must also prepare in writing for an interview regarding expectations, mid-way and final evaluation including assessment of their own learning outcomes.

Clinical training 1/1 Passed / Not Passed

In order to pass MJOP90, students must have completed supervised professional training with a maximum of 10% absence, and had their supervised professional training assessed with a pass grade according to the course’s assessment form. This includes: - Quantitative clinical requirements must be documented continuously, with written documentation of self-assessment and reflection on learning situations - If doubt arises regarding approval of the supervised professional training, students must be notified in writing halfway through their training, and no later than three weeks before the end of the training period. The notification must indicate what the student is not able to master and the requirements that must be met in order to have the supervised professional training approved. Should the student, despite showing satisfactory progress at the mid-way assessment, demonstrate actions/conduct that clearly do not provide a basis for passing the supervised professional training, the student may still be given a ‘fail’ grade even if prior notification of doubt was not given.
