Ibsen’s research interests are focused on risk to infrastructure and natural hazards. Currently and for a project at the University of Stavanger,&nbsp;he undertakes studies and research in geological risk analysis. &nbsp;This project involves a systematic study of geological risk analysis in the framework of the probability theory. The goal is to develop risk analysis tools that can utilize passive seismic and active and passive electro-magnetic data. He will be supervised by Prof. Terje Aven and Prof. Roger Flage. In 2012, he successfully completed his doctorate studies at Universiteit Twente in the Netherlands. He has been using the Bayesian networks framework for the quantification of risk in tunnelling, slope stability analysis and construction project management. He is Civil Engineer from the National University of Colombia.
