Meditations on listening

Artistic research fellow Halldis Rønning explores listening as presence, balance, art, and process – in auditory, physical, visual, and relational dimensions. She challenges the traditional role of the conductor and opens up conducting as conceptual art, performance, and dance.

The concert takes place at Stavanger Concert Hall on Wednesday, August 13 at 19:00, and marks the conclusion of Halldis Rønning’s doctoral project in conducting at the Faculty of Performing Arts, University of Stavanger, in collaboration with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.

The program features newly composed works by Maja S. K. Ratkje, Hilmar Thordarson, and Halldis Rønning, as well as works by Arvo Pärt and Pauline Hall, and video art by Anne-Marthe Dyvi, Thorbjörg Jonsdottir, and Halldis Rønning in collaboration with Eirik Aurlund Sæle.

The concert is free of charge, but tickets must be reserved in advance.
