Welcome to a unique performance about new perspectives on the conductor's role and listening as an expanded concept!
PhD candidate in conducting at the Faculty of Performing Arts, Halldis Rønning, holds a magnificent concert that marks the end of her doctoral studies.

Can conducting be conceptual art? Can it be performance or dance? Through her art, she touches on themes such as mutual exchange, creative scope, agency and control. But also the conducting body as an expression and register of experience in interaction with nature or with an orchestra.

The concert is curated by Rønning and includes newly written works by Maja S. K. Ratkje, Hilmar Thordarson and Halldis Rønning, works by Arvo Pärt and Pauline Hall, as well as video art by Anne-Marthe Dyvi, Thorbjörg Jonsdottir and Halldis Rønning in collaboration with Eirik Aurlund Sæle.
Free admission, but reserve your ticket here on the concert hall's website: Meditations on listening - a creative exploration of the conductor's role - Stavanger Concert Hall
