Content

As a continuation of MPR 541, students will work with a wide variety of concert and studio recordings, including their own projects. Students will participate in group projects including assigned recordings.

Learning outcome

Students completing MPR542: Music Production and Recording Practice II will have gained specialized knowledge of a personally selected research topic, allowing them to apply their findings in their professional careers.

Knowledge and understanding:

  • Students will possess knowledge of artistic practice, concept development and project management in relation to music production and recording.
  • Students can understand and can reflect upon artistic practice, concept development and project management, and can identify artistic and technical challenges in relation to music production and recording.

Skills

  • Students will master music production-related methods, tools and modes of expression, and general skills relating to professional practices within music production and recording.

Students are required to deliver a portfolio of their completed recordings and project reports at the end of each semester.

Coursework requirements

Students are required to actively practice their music production and recording techniques by working with self-selected and assigned projects.

Course assessment

There must be an early dialogue between the course coordinator, the student representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester.In addition, a digital course evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
