Join UiS in the people's parade (Folketoget)!
The Norwegian Constitution Day is a public holiday and celebrated all over Norway. Get the most out of the experience by marching in the festive parade! At 3.30 pm we'll start lining up for the parade at Skagenkaien. Just look for the UiS banner. Together we'll wave flags and enjoy the celebration as the parade walks through the city.
17 May breakfast, BBQ and Eurovision party with UiS students at SiS studenthus
The student organisation UiS Brettspill (UiS board games) will organize a joint breakfast potluck in the StOrstua lounge from 10 am. After the parade, there will be a BBQ potluck, open from 6 pm at the StOrstua lounge in SiS studenthus. Bring food, enjoy good company, and get ready for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, starting at 9 pm. It's free to join, but please sign up using this form. The events are non-alcoholic.
Folken is open
Folken, the center for cultural students activities, opens at 1 pm. Here you can watch the happy graduating high school students passing by in their own parade, the Russetog. A few hours later you can cheer or join UiS students and staff as the peoples' parade marches past.
Traditional celebration with SiS
At 2 pm you are welcome to join a traditional 17 May celebration with hot dogs, ice cream and cakes as well as lots of fun activities. This will take place at VID Stavanger (Misjonsmarka). The event is organized by SiS and is free and open to all students in Stavanger. Learn more and sign up at MinSiS.
