This is how you obtain and use your student card.
Your student card serves as:
- Library card for borrowing books
- Access card for entry to buildings and various rooms
- Printing and copying card
How to get a student card
- Complete the first four steps in the checklist for new students
- Download the Student ID-app
- Upload or take a picture in the digital photo booth
- Make sure that your picture meets all the requirements, and press "submit"
Collect the card
You can collect the card three working days after you ordered it in the Student Reception in Arne Rettedals buildi
Opening times
- 09:00-15:00 in August and January
- 09:00-15:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays the rest of the year
Remember to bring valid identification (passport, driver's license, national ID card)
Lost student card
If you lose your student card or suspect that it has been stolen, please report it immediately to studentservice@uis.no. The replacement cost for the card is 200 NOK, and can be paid with a debit card at the Student Reception in Arne Rettedals building.
Validity
The student card is valid for 5 years or until you complete your studies. If you change your study program within these 5 years, please contact studentservice@uis.no to reactivate it.
Access to rooms and printing
You will automatically have access to all main buildings. If you need additional access to specific rooms, such as computer labs, please contact your faculty administration.
