As part of Environmental History Week organized by the American Society for Environmental History, the Greenhouse Environmental Humanities Book Talk series hosted a special panel discussion featuring environmental historians who have presented their books in the series during the last year. This special book talk took place on Monday, 19 April 2021, 16:00 in Norway (10am US Eastern).
Our panelists reflected upon the place of their own work within the larger framework of environmental humanities: After having written their book as a historian, do they think the book has something to contribute to environmental humanities scholars who are not historians? If so, what is that?
Participants are (in order of their original book talk): Bathsheba Demuth (author of Floating Coast), Angela Cassidy (author of Vermin, Victims, and Disease), Rocio Gomez (author of Silver Veins, Dusty Lungs), Peder Anker (author of The Power of the Periphery), Etienne Benson (author of Surroundings), and Ben Cohen (author of Pure Adulteration) along with hosts Finn Arne Jørgensen and Dolly Jørgensen (author of Recovering Lost Species in the Modern Age).
