Evaluation, report, and revision of programmes and exchange stays

One of the goals of the quality work at UiS is to ensure the students' total learning outcomes at programme level. The programmes must also be based on updated research- and development work, and meet national and international expectations to the education.

a) Annual programme evaluation and programme report

After completion of the academic year, the programme is evaluated. The results of the evaluation is formulated into a programme report. Programme coordinator is responsible for the evaluation and report and for the handling in the study programme council. The evaluations must be based upon quantitative results data, course reports and results from course evaluations and dialogues regarding quality at course and programme level. The evaluation must map whether the programme maintains the desired quality and has satisfactory results, as well as build a foundation for further development work.

The programme reports lays the foundation for the annual work with the faculty's portfolio and portfolio report. They also lay the foundation for the annual course- and programme revisions. 

For Ph.D.-programmes the foundation will be based on course reports, progress reports, midway evaluations and candidate surveys at institutional level. Participants will be Vice-dean of research, Ph.D.-candidates and staff representatives. 

b) Evaluation of student exchange stays

At the end of every student exchange period, the students are invited to give their feedback of their stay.

The results of the evaluation and the experience reports are published on Canvas. The results are included in the foundation for the semester evaluation, programme evaluation and programme report. 

c) Annual course- and programme revision

All courses and programmes are revised annually for further development. The revisions are done every autumn semester and is valid from the following academic year. Guidelines for the revisions are decided by the dean within the framework of the accreditation decision of the programme., The revisions include all ordinary studies and studies in the EVU-portfolio.
