Bio

I am a PhD candidate at the Norwegian Centre for Reading Education and Research, currently working on the dissertation Adolescents’ Mind Wandering During Reading on Paper and Screen with a planned data collection for the fall of 2022. The goal is to compare upper secondary vocational students’ performances in reading comprehension and mind wandering during reading informational texts in different textbook modalities.

My project focuses on the cognitive processes of reading to learn, but I am also interested in the social and educational aspects of reading and digitalization.

I completed my Teaching degree and Master thesis in Sociolinguistics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2018 and have taught English and French in various elementary and secondary schools in Stavanger. I am also part of the Cognitive Lab at UiS, the Norwegian Research School in Neuroscience (NRSN) and Interfaces of Reading and Writing, a researcher network led by Anne Mangen and Hildegunn Støle.

My supervisors are Hildegunn Støle, Lilla Magyari and Anne Mangen.
