The background of this research group is a time of increased nurse shortage and a need for nursing students who are satisfied with and complete their education as nurses. It is worth investing in students' satisfaction with education because the more satisfied the nursing students are with education, the higher their job satisfaction and the likelihood of staying in the profession as nurses.

Lectures in health and nursing education are the key piece when it comes to good education, but they often experience a heavy workload. To retain employees in education and sustainable health and care services, increased efforts, competence development, and continuous training for competence enhancement among educators are required.
The research group will contribute to professional growth and development to increase attractiveness and sustainability in future education and healthcare. In the first phase, the focus is on new educators in nursing education and their experiences of being educators today, their personal development and growth, as well as how to strengthen new educators in their profession and stay and remain in the education sector.
The research group is affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences. The research group promotes collaboration between researchers at UiS and universities nationally and internationally and enables career development for newly graduated Ph.D. students in further research and collaboration. In the initial phase, the research takes place in Norway and Finland.
