Professor Merja Stenroos has been awarded the most prestigious grant from the EU, the European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant. It is the first time a UiS research project has been awarded a grant from the ERC.
The aim of the programme is to stimulate childist research across the academy, test and evolve the concept of childism, and inform childist social and political justice processes.

You have all loyally and successfully complied with infection control measures. In addition, we have had some well-deserved luck. There is very little infection at our university.

UniPed is a unit that helps the University of Stavanger (UiS) achieve excellence in education. UniPed’s goal is to foster a culture of quality-centred teaching that benefits both students and staff.

NETTOP is a department that develops digital teaching and e-learning in collaboration with the academic divisions at the university. We create everything from complete online courses to games, videos, apps, podcasts, simulations and other digital tools that contribute to learning.
The Department educates primary school teachers and offers sports studies, as well as a Master’s degree in Special Needs Education. The Department also has an abundance of continuing and further education courses.
The Department of Cultural Studies and Languages (IKS) is involved in teaching, research and dissemination related to religion, culture, languages, literature, history and pedagogy.
The top management team at the UiS consists of rector, prorector for research, prorector for education, prorector for innovation and society, and the director of organisation and infrastructure.
