Kaleidoskop is a festival that focuses on important events, life changes and critical perspectives. By presenting different points of view from both academia and other active social actors, the festival aims to create and develop new ideas and opportunities.
The joint services at UiS are organised into four divisions and headed by the prorector for research, the prorector for education, the prorector for innovation and society and the the director for organisation and infrastructure.
The Responsible Tourism online seminar week (18th-22nd March 2024) organized in Nordic cooperation deals with current topics of responsible tourism, such as climate change and tourism, accessibility and ethics in tourism, concrete actions to promote responsibility and future of tourism.
Students from different study programs across UiS were invited to engage in a challenge-based learning activity, aiming at generating new ideas for developing the future hotel.
On 18-20 September 2024 The Norwegian School of Hotel Management at the University of Stavanger, will host the Nordic Symposium 2024 under the theme “The roles of humans and technology in shaping the future”.
In his PhD work, Mehul Vora has contributed to new knowledge about the environmental risk related to shortlisted products and processes in improved and enhanced oil recovery.

An ongoing project between University of Stavanger and Metropolitan University of Prague addresses an important topic that has received little attention in the past, that of accessible tourism. The 2-year collaboration has led to knowledge exchange, curricula and course development and learning for all stakeholders, and will impact both future education and research.

Solar Energy Research Group seeks to overcome barriers to world solar adoption by connecting solar energy researchers from different disciplines and perspectives at the University of Stavanger. The research group is a place to share research, projects, dissemination, and ongoing activities. The group also helps researchers find ways to work together and promote joint initiatives.

Associate Professor Ari Tarigan from the Department of economics, safety and planning is part of a group of researchers from Polish and Norwegian universities that was awarded almost 2 million euros for their project “Greencoin”, an interactive system that will promote environmentally friendly behaviour among citizens through a reward system.
The ROADMAP project has the overall objective to establish a European «doctrine on disaster risk and crisis management», funded on the mutual cooperation between scientific communities and disaster risk management authorities.
