It is the ambition of our courses to have participants from other countries, the seat is free of charge (no course fee). International candidates are welcome to participate. The courses are inter- and multidisciplinary, and candidates enrolled in PhD training outside social science research, for instance, in fields such as humanities and educational sciences, medicine and health sciences are encouraged to apply. Application deadline: 3 weeks before the course start date.

Candidates admitted to the PhD Programmes at the University of Stavanger should apply through Studentweb If there are more applicants than the 15 admission places available, a selection will be made based on an assessment of the relevance of the course for the candidate’s research plan and qualifications in the relation to the objectives of the course. Course description PHD103 Course dates: 8-12 February 2021 (5 days) Course coordinator: Professor Anders Vassenden Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we plan for a hybrid solution with both campus and online teaching this year. If the situation – infection rates, lockdowns, etc. – at the time (Feb 8th to 12th) permits, we will meet in person in the allocated auditoriums. However, for those who prefer it, we accommodate for participation in Zoom. If the situation at the time does not permit any campus teaching, the course will be fully online (Zoom). In short, we plan for a hybrid solution, but online participation will be possible in any circumstances.
